Bio

Herb Hogue brings over 30 years of domestic and international experience in capital structuring, strategic planning, business development, mergers and acquisitions and risk management in the business sectors of electric power, energy development (including clean technology), financial services, software and real estate development. He has been the CFO of two large electric utilities but has also developed business plans for very early stage companies that resulted in major proposals for investment. In addition, as financial V.P. of a power generation company that had $30 million in revenues when he joined, he led a development program that became the centerpiece of the company’s ten-fold increase in revenues and earnings five years later and resulted in a successful initial public offering that raised $350 million. He also executed the turnaround of an $850 million enterprise using sound financial policies, development of a strategic plan, reorganization of the risk management and IT departments and development of an award-winning corporate performance system using business information technology. His M&A experience includes $3 billion in company acquisitions and project developments in Australia, China, Great Britain and Mexico, as well as in the U.S. He holds a BS in civil engineering from Stanford, a Master’s in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
