  • Restructured $81 million failing professional services company; improved monthly cash flow by $1 million in three months, returning it to positive cash-flow and earnings, raised $7 million in equity, and then packaged and sold to consolidating company
  • Headed a division of a venture-backed startup that was the fastest growing company of its type in the nation; built and managed 170 employee team and was a major contributor to three equity financing rounds totaling $47 million in anticipation of IPO

Bio

Bill Dougherty has more than 25 years’ experience helping companies to identify and resolve strategic issues, then helping them grow. Bill uses an analytics and metrics-focused approach to identify business key performance measures. Those measures become management’s ‘common vocabulary’ to understand and improve operations performance and profitability. In his three years with each of his last two companies, both achieved at least eight-fold growth (sales to high eight figures and low nine figures), with strong profitability. Bill’s experience covers the gamut from consultant (for Arthur Andersen/Accenture and McKinsey) to C-level executive. His career progression has given him expertise in private partnerships, public companies, and both venture-backed and private equity-funded private companies. Primarily a strategist, COO and CFO, Bill also has twice run successful businesses and also has deep hands-on experience in HR, IT, legal and M&A. He is a graduate of the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business (BS, Summa Cum Laude) and the Harvard Business School (MBA with Distinction), and is a CPA.
