Bio

Barry Matthews has 35 years of experience serving in financial leadership roles for organizations in the services and consumer products industry. He often enters as an organization’s founding CFO, building the financial function from the ground up, including forming teams, developing processes and procedures, raising capital and preparing for strategic growth. He was the first CFO of Keegan Management Company, which managed Nutri System Weight Loss Centers, where he completed a successful IPO and was instrumental in growing the company from 15 locations to 75 locations across eight states. Barry was also the first CFO of Pets’ Rx, a multi-location acquisition, consolidation and operation of veterinary hospitals. During his tenure, revenues grew from $0 to $15 million over a four-year period primarily from 19 business acquisitions and organic growth. As co-founder of Pets’ Choice, Inc., Barry helped raise over $70 million in equity and debt financing in four rounds, and acquired 60 veterinary hospitals in 5 states, building annualized revenues from $0 to $52 million over a 45-month period. Barry also served as the first CFO of Gene Juarez Salons, LLC, a dominant chain of salons and spas in the Pacific Northwest, where the team delivered record levels of EBITDA and net earnings. Barry holds a BS in Commerce from the University of Santa Clara. He’s a CPA in the state of California (inactive).
