Key Leadership AccomplishmentsGary is proficient at allocating working capital for company scaling, either organically or through acquisition. Most recently at Syntonic, Gary’s leadership was responsible for growing revenues by 190 percent after public listing, followed by a 312 percent uplift with a restructuring and refocused GTM. In the span of four years, Gary completed two buy-side and two-sell side international acquisitions to advance the company’s scale-out strategy.
Gary is an entrepreneur, thought leader, and senior executive with expertise guiding organizations to industry-leading market positions and revenue growth. He has strong technical credentials and strengths in executive management, strategic and product planning, team leadership, finance, and operations for launching pivotal new product offerings and intrapreneurial ventures. Gary’s experience spans leadership roles with publicly traded enterprise organizations (Microsoft, RealNetworks, Hutchison Whampoa) as well as startup firms, where he transformed bold new product visions into sustainable revenue performance and commercially successful market positions.
Most recently, Gary was the CEO and Managing Director of a global mobile services company, Perth-based Syntonic Limited, including its operating subsidiaries and local offices in Brazil, Vietnam, India, South Africa, United Kingdom, Germany, and United States Gary led the company through the initial visioning/startup to being a publicly traded entity with 9 local offices in 11 time zones, concluding with an acquisition to a US company in November 2020.
Gary is the author of eight patents, developer of the groundbreaking RealVideo 1.0 video codec, and is a frequent keynote speaker and invited panelists at leading global industry conferences, including Mobile World Congress, Futurecom, and CTIA. Gary received his Ph.D. in high-energy particle physics at the University of California and was a visiting scholar at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (now SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory), where he did novel research on the quark-gluon structure of charged mesons.
