Key Leadership AccomplishmentsSteven directed and led, as Interim Director of Financial Operations, the successful post-acquisition integration for multiple critical access hospitals and private physician clinics for a more than $2 billion private, not-for-profit health system. He also led and integrated, as CFO, VP of Finance, VP of Acquisition Analysis and Integration, Corporate Controller, and Consultant for a more than $1 billion publicly traded environmental waste company the successful acquisition of over 150 separate businesses that tripled the company’s stock value over a six-year period and increased revenues 537 percent. In addition, he served as interim controller for a $1.6 billion E&I division of a $7 billion publicly traded engineering & construction company, successfully guiding the division through a Sarbanes-Oxley remediation and multiple JV reporting issues where he also served as project lead for a major water technology “carve-out” transaction.
Steven Uthoff has over 40 years of global and domestic experience serving in senior and executive financial roles for publicly traded, private, and not-for-profit organizations across multiple sectors of 19 separate industries, including healthcare, professional services, engineering, construction, architecture and design, industrial switch- and computer-board manufacturing, environmental waste, venture capital, hospitality, and agriculture, while raising well in excess of $2 billion in capital. Steven’s background and expertise are heavily weighted to accelerated, capital-intensive growth, strategic and project management, M&A, pre- and post-acquisition integration and reengineering, divestitures, and carve-outs. As CFO, VP of Finance, Corporate Controller, and Principal Financial Officer to the SEC for Allied Waste Industries, Inc. (NYSE-”AW”), Steven purchased, closed, and integrated well over 150 separate businesses, including the purchase of U.S. and Canadian Laidlaw, Inc., a $1.5 billion transaction, which at the time was the largest single purchase to date in the environmental waste industry. These acquisitions drove revenues from $150 million to $840 million in three years, while creating over $60 million in economies of scale.
